Alaska's excursion story at launch is one legendary line: the White Pass & Yukon Route, climbing out of Skagway over the pass its gold-rush builders blasted through in 1898–1900. The state's other great rail experiences are scheduled services — the Alaska Railroad's Denali Star, Coastal Classic and flagstop Hurricane Turn — and they live in this site's Journeys section, where they belong.
Hawaii has two operating excursion railways — the Hawaiian Railway Society on Oahu and the Kauai Plantation Railway — and both are in this directory's verification queue for its first expansion: they will appear here once each has passed the same official-source check as every listing on this page. Until then, this hub is honestly a one-listing page, and it says so.
